Tiemoue Bakayoko officially joins PAOK!

The Greek champions have announced the signing of the experienced French defensive midfielder, who has signed a long-term contract 1+1 years old and choose the jersey with the number “8”!

“PAE PAOK announces the transfer of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Lorient. The French midfielder signed a cooperation contract with PAEK PAOK for 1+1 years and will wear the shirt with the number 8.

Tiemoue Bakayoko was born on August 17, 1994 in Paris and started his football journey at the age of five before joining the Rennes academy at 13. The French midfielder stood out and on August 24, 2013 he made his professional debut with Rennes in a league match against Evian. In July 2014, Monaco spent €8,000,000 to sign him. The transfer to the Monegasques was decisive for his career. Bakayoko became one of the main cogs in the team and won the French league in 2016-17, while also contributing significantly to the team’s impressive run to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in the same season. During his time at Monaco he made 92 appearances, scoring five goals and providing one assist. In the summer of 2017, Chelsea forked out €40,000,000 to sign him, the second most expensive transfer in the history of the club up to that time. Bakayoko made 43 appearances for the Blues, scoring three times and providing three assists, while also winning the FA Cup. After Chelsea, Bakayoko was loaned to AC Milan for the 2018-19 season, where he made 42 appearances, scoring one goal and sharing one assist. In 2019-20 he returned to Monaco, making 23 appearances, one goal and two assists, while the following season, he was loaned to Napoli, making 44 appearances, two goals and two assists. In the 2021-22 season, he returned to Milan again on a new loan , played in 18 matches and won the Italian championship. Last season, Bakayoko returned to France for Lorient, making 21 appearances, two goals and one assist. At international level, Bakayoko wore the shirt of the French national team, recording one participation in 2017, while at the same time he has competed in all the youth national teams of his country.
