Protopsaltis and Van Den Dries gave air +4 (3-7) to Panathinaikos, with PAOK running a series that put him in the lead (8-7). The third set went point by point, to the point where the hosts with Petreas reached +4 again (18-14). Andreopoulos’s total reached the point 20-19, but with consecutive successful attacks, the determined hosts reduced 1-2 in the sets (25-21).
The terrible start of Panathinaikos (1-5), forced Kalmazidis to call time out. The “greens” maintained the lead with relative comfort, until 14-18, when Barnes also went to serve. With their block being impenetrable, the hosts went ahead (19-18)! From there and after the match he went point by point (24-24), until Protopsaltis gave the victory with 24-26 and 3-1 sets!
