Euroleague: The outline of the new club and players’ association agreement

OR Euroleague Basketball and the EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA) announced today (11/9) the renewal of the EuroLeague Framework Agreement (EFA), originally established in 2021, until the end of the 2026-27 season. The negotiations involved Euroleague Basketball, ELPA and the EuroLeague Club Committee, with the updated EFA ensuring a harmonious and productive environment for all parties involved.

The revised EuroLeague Framework Agreement addresses several critical areas, including:

Ensuring fair and competitive compensation for all players.

– Image, commercial and promotional activities: Enhance opportunities for players and clubs to engage in promotional activities while protecting their individual and collective rights.

– Training: Establish guidelines to optimize training programs and workloads.

– Player health and performance: Upgrade training standards and medical facilities.

– Travel Conditions: Improving travel arrangements to ensure comfort and efficiency, reducing travel related stress and fatigue for players and staff.

– Joint Working Group: The parties have committed to analyze and develop a proposal for a EuroLeague-wide player pension scheme in order to support players’ transition from their playing careers to their next step in life.
