Manzios: “We moved with purpose in the transfers – Moron is a barometer player for Aris”

Statements ahead of the match between Aris and OFI on Sunday (15/9, 20:30) were made by Akis Manzios.

The Greek coach stated that the “yellows” made targeted moves in the transfer window, while he emphasized that the Lorraine Moron he is a barometer player for the team.

In detail what he said:

“I am satisfied with the moves made during the transfer period. The team moved purposefully in terms of the players that came in, while keeping the ones they wanted. Important players such as Fabiano and Julian Cuesta remained in the team. We’ve got a good squad compared to last season, so we’re happy with the way the team has worked in terms of building the roster.”

About Lorraine Moron he said: “It was a strange period for us, but also for him. I think this is understandable. He is an excellent footballer and we were very happy that he stayed in our team! He is a barometer player for Mars. And he, having an excellent year, the previous one, possibly expected to make a transfer to a better league. Every football player always has goals and that is important, it is good and should not bother anyone. It was a difficult two months for him and for us to be able to manage this situation. Since he joined our team, we have spoken many times and his function is now different, as is his will to deliver. So it is important that he stayed with us! Finally good, everything is fine and we are very much looking forward to his goals”.

Regarding the suspension of the championship and the attempt to integrate the new players, he said: “Indeed it was a period which helped us to work more with the new players and integrate them better into our team. It helped them get to know their new teammates better and improve their level of readiness to get closer to the level of the rest of the group. The new players are in better shape than they were. The same will happen in every league break, that is, they will improve, until everyone reaches the same level. Yes, I’m happy with the job we did at the break.”



Finally, regarding the game with OFI, he noted: “OFI is a good team and especially at home they have more motivation and push from their crowd. He is coming off a good win, which gave him a psychological boost. We have analyzed the opponent and will deal with him accordingly. We want the victory and that is our goal in the game next Sunday. We have worked well in all areas, what we have to do and what we expect the opponent to do. We are ready for the Crete game”.
