Pelistri: “Sad that Panathinaikos didn’t win, we gave it our all”

by

Dissatisfied with the fact that Panathinaikos did not manage to achieve its goal, which was the victory against PAOK, said Facundo Pellistri.

And that’s because, as the Uruguayan winger pointed out to NOVA’s camera, the “greens” went to Toumba just to get the victory, while he also made special mention of the good image of his team.

What Pelistri mentioned in detail:

On what taste his first derby leaves him: “It leaves me with a bitter taste, because we came here to win. This was not possible because there were some details and some moments that we could not complete. They deprived us of victory. So I’m leaving sad, because we came with the aim of winning which we didn’t manage to get.”

On what he liked and disliked about his team: “What I will say I liked is the second 25 minutes in the first half and in the second half the fact that we had possession, we played more aggressively. The opposing team was at home, so they took advantage of the spaces, the transition. I liked that the team gave everything, fought on the pitch. We came for the win, we didn’t even look for a moment to grab the draw. The team showed a good image, they fought and that is the positive”.

On how he thinks he also plays on the left, while he plays on the right for his National Team: “The truth is that I am more used to playing on the right, but I am a winger who can also play on the left. I will say that what we are looking at is to rotate, sometimes to the right, sometimes to the left, in order to hurt opposing defenses. I can perform the same on both sides, even though I mainly play on the right.”

About how he has adapted to Greece and about his life here:
“I have a short time here. In the middle of this journey I returned to Uruguay for the National Team. I’m still looking for a house, I haven’t found one. I am very happy to be here, for the sun, the country, my fans. The people here have made me happy.”

On whether he spoke to Soretire, who was also at Manchester United:
“At the end of the match I spoke with him. He’s a really good kid and an incredible player. We played in the last one with Manchester United together and I wish him all the best.”
