It was… dark, but Real Madrid started with the “right”! Carlo Ancelotti’s team was hard pressed by the competition Stuttgartbut managed to win 3-1 thanks to a goal by Kylian Mbappe,Antonio Riedinger and Edricgetting her first hat-trick in the “new” Champions League.
H Stuttgart came into the game much better and missed many classic chances in the first half, with Thibaut Courtois to hold her Real unscathed by his impressive operations. Offensively, the “queen” could not threaten, staying away from the big chances.
In the second half, Real proved that they don’t need… much to score. After Aurelien Chouameny’s long ball and a poor reaction from the German defense, Rodrigo gave Kylian Mbappe and he scored his first goal for Madrid in the Champions League in front of an empty net for 1-0.
Stuttgart, however, were not worried and although they conceded more phases, culminating in a crossbar by Viniciusresponded in the 68th minute with his header Denise Udav from close range for 1-1. The Germans didn’t stop and looked for a second goal, but in the end the one who found it was a… German from Real.
Specifically, Mr Antonio Riedinger he jumped higher than everyone after Luka Modric’s corner and made an impressive header for Real 2-1, who managed to keep the victory until the end and even scored… exclamation point, with Edric to score the first goal of his career in Europe’s top competition in stoppage time for 3-1.
