An interview with the Italian media was granted by Mario Balotelli!
At 34 and on a free transfer after being released by Turkish side Adana Demirspor, the Italian striker revealed that he turned down several offers in his hands during the summer, wanting to return to Serie A.
In addition, he emphasized that he does not understand the prejudice that people have towards him, stating that he went through a very difficult period for that time and adding that he has changed.
“I don’t understand the prejudice people have towards me. I’ve had my disagreements with some coaches, but who hasn’t? I never ruined the atmosphere in the dressing room, whereas today you hear about footballers using drugs, doping cases and gambling addictions”he initially stated and went on to say:
“I went through a period where I constantly felt lonely and unmotivated, but during those times I had my family by my side, and I also took a psychological path that helped me. I have changed a lot, now I know well how to control myself. I regret not knowing earlier”he said, while finally expressing his desire to return to Italy’s top flight, revealing that he turned down several offers during this summer.
“I would like to return to Serie A and that’s why I haven’t responded positively to some of the offers I’ve had from foreign teams”.
