A derby like… a teaser for the “battle” of the title: With a goal in the 98th minute, City got a point against Arsenal!

by

We wanted a derby, they gave us a derby

Arsenal and City they couldn’t offer anything less than what they presented at the Etihad. The “gunners” made a huge fist, trusted their strength, “hit” with their favorite corners, but City banned them in 98‘ to walk away winners from this particular stadium for the first time since January 2015!

It wasn’t until the 9th minute that Savinho sent him off Haaland into the empty space, with the Norwegian running between Gabriel and Saliba to score for 1-0. It was his 100th goal in 105 appearances for the Citizens, with the Viking constantly writing new chapters of history in the world’s top League.

Of course, he was not able to enjoy this achievement… In the 21st minute he “lost”. Rodri with a knee problem, giving Pep Guardiola a major worry for the rest of the season and just seconds later came the equaliser! THE Cauliflower in the 22nd minute, with a great left-footed shot from outside the area, he scored for the first time in the Gunners’ shirt for the 1-1with the home team complaining loudly to the referee and the Catalan coach kicking the bench seat.

The reason was that the City players thought that the referee should wait for everyone to take their seats again, having briefly called the captains to him, however, the Walker managed to cover Martinelli. Nevertheless, the Brazilian found Calafiori who didn’t even think about it to send the ball towards Ederson’s goal.

Arsenal are known to love them corner kickhave scored 6 more goals than any other Premier League club in this manner since the start of last season and did so at the Etihad as well. At 45′ + 1′ o Gabriel eluded Walker to head home to make it 2-1, but the Londoners’ joy was somewhat tempered by Trossard’s folly just before the break. Driving the ball away after a foul on Bernardo, he saw his second yellow card and was sent off.

It made sense for Arteta’s side to defend… for their lives, now, in the second half and simply wait out City’s attacks, hoping for the sand to drain from the hourglass as quickly as possible. THE Rail did his best in this Arsenal effort, the Champions were left to record finals… with the sack, but the thriller would have goals in 98‘. In a moment of confusion in the visitors’ goal, the ball reached Stones who wrote the final from close range 2-2leaving Arteta’s players powerless to continue, no matter how much Rice tried to make them think there were seconds left…
