In the context of the “Athens Heart Festival”, the General Secretary of Sports, Giorgos Mavrotas, spoke about the importance of preventive control and the necessity of knowledge of first aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – from coaches and athletes to ordinary citizens – for safe Sports. , which was organized by the Hellenic Cardiology Society (HSE), with the aim of raising public awareness for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
In the special panel on the topic: “Safe sport and the importance of CPR”, the Secretary General of Sports together with the “bronze” Olympic rowing champion, Antonis Papakonstantinou, the federal coach of the “gold” Paralympic champion, Nassou Gavela (100m T11), Nestora Kolovos, the two-time Olympian in hoops, Demosthenes Tabako, and the European champion and world runner-up with the national basketball team, Kostas Tsartsari, showed the citizens present, as well as school students, the value of sports and a healthy lifestyle from an early age and prevention for safe sport.
In his statement, Mr. Mavrotas said:
