The chairman of the board of directors of ESAKE, Evangelos Galatsopouloshe spoke as part of his press conference Stoiximan Super Cup of Rhodes.
Among other things, Mr. Galatsopoulos emphasized that this year we are expected to see the most impressive Super Cup, since the teams have strengthened enough, while he emphasized once again that basketball is here to unite and not to divide.
In detail what he said:
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the great celebration of professional basketball, the institution of the Super Cup, the Stoiximan Super Cup, which for the third consecutive year we are organizing in Rhodes. I want to thank from the bottom of my heart the fans of Rhodes, the South Aegean Region, the Municipality of Rhodes and everyone who contributes to the organization, because they have “embraced” the institution of the SuperCup. And they are doing everything to make the event that has been established as the jumbo ball of the season for Greek professional basketball a success.
Especially this year there was a road race by everyone in Rhodes so that the indoor stadium of Kallithea was ready to host the Stoiximan Super Cup. I would like to take this opportunity to wish good luck to Kolossos H Hotels Collection for its “maiden” participation in a European event and of course our best wishes accompany all the Greek teams participating in European institutions.
We hope that other European trophies will come to our country and we believe that this will happen very soon because the Stoiximan Greek Basketball League does not just have a new name. The name change marks the beginning of a new era for Greek professional basketball.
With the contribution of all the OEMs, the investments made by the owners and the support of the State, our Championship has improved significantly at all levels. Something that is proven by the course of the Greek teams in the European competitions, the renovated indoor stadiums that upgrade the experience of the Stoiximan GBL spectators, the financial consolidation of the teams. With full awareness, we also participate in the State’s effort to combat violence by establishing ticket identification. And we are at her disposal so that we can all manage to prevent the slightest incident from happening in our stadiums.
At this point I want to thank ERT, which is the “home” of basketball, with which we are very close to extending our cooperation for the next three years. ERT has associated its name with the development of our beloved sport, with its greatest and most historic moments.
The extension of our partnership for three more years gives us the opportunity to chart new horizons for basketball in our country. Our teams to feel safe to plan the future. I would also like to thank Stoiximan, which is one of our strategic partners and starting this year we are launching a new collaboration with the naming of the Super Cup. Certainly Stoiximan is present and in the new beginning of the GBL supports the teams and basketball.
I wish everyone to enjoy this year’s Super Cup which is expected to be the best yet as our teams continue to improve and develop. I wish the athletes, the coaches, the support staffs, the administrations of the KAE good strength and success in the new season.
