The Israel Defense Forces hit Beirut again with airstrikes targeting three buildings where Hezbollah stores anti-ship missiles, after earlier calling on local residents to evacuate the areas.

Fresh explosions have rocked a Beirut suburb where the Israeli military hit at least three buildings allegedly harboring Hezbollah missiles.

The Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) announced a short time ago that they launched an attack against Hezbollah positions in the area of Tire in the southern part of Lebanon.

“Terrorist targets are currently being hit in the area of Tyre,” an IDF briefing said.

The bombing by the Israeli air force at this time has extended along the entire length of the front.

The Israeli military called for the immediate evacuation of specific buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut for the first time, with IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari announcing shortly after that other underground Hezbollah facilities in Beirut would be hit within the next few hours. He also said that Israeli warplanes have “blocked” Beirut’s airport to prevent Hezbollah from being supplied with new weapons.

In particular, Haggari said Israeli forces would soon attack “strategic capabilities” belonging to Hezbollah under three building complexes south of Beirut. The Israeli military told residents in and around the buildings to leave immediately.

Earlier, the IDF called on Lebanese civilians near several buildings in Beirut’s Dahiyeh suburb, a known Hezbollah stronghold, to evacuate immediately.

Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-speaking spokesman, released maps along with the announcement calling on citizens to move at least 500 meters away from three locations in Dahiyeh.

The sites are used by Hezbollah, according to the IDF.

“You are near Hezbollah properties and for your safety and the safety of your loved ones, you are obligated to evacuate the buildings immediately and move at least 500 meters away from them,” says Adraee.
