“Mistakes decide the result in football. We had mistakes in front of goal and paid for the fact that we conceded a goal. We played very well in the game. We had to score. We didn’t. And there we didn’t manage to win. We had great opportunities.
In football, if you don’t score you can’t win. In this game, we should score. I can’t talk about fatigue. Lately the difference in capacity has been huge. And with an empty net, we didn’t manage to score. There are times when no matter what you do things come against you. And other periods when things go in your favor.
You have to fight a lot, react, there are times when the ball goes towards your goal, with no chances. We must fight with absolute will. I have nothing to say about my players and the effort they put in. While we created a lot, we conceded a goal from the offside.
I don’t remember a single match against Aris in these three years, where even if we won, we didn’t have that many chances during the match. And especially against a team that has a cohesion and defends in this way, playing with the top teams of Greece.
In the first half, the image of the game was different, we were stealing some balls on the field. Maybe some errors appeared. I expected more things from those who entered. They had pressure in the specific period at the time of the match”.
On whether the wind may have affected the image of the race: “The wind plays a role for both teams. I don’t think it affected the effort much. Don’t try to make things complicated. We could have scored and the picture would have been different. When you don’t score you can’t win. Aris has a team with quality players. You have to score in the empty net. Why didn’t we score?
