Mourning in world basketball. THE Dikebe Mutombo he breathed his last in old age 58 years olddefeated by cancer.
THE Mutombo had been diagnosed with brain cancer in October 2022 and had immediately started treatments. Today, as it became known from the NBA, with a written statement from its commissioner, Adam Silver, he passed away.

THE Dikebe Mutombo had been born on June 25, 1966 in Kinshasa. It was one of the best center in the years, that he was active, but also of the sport in general, known for his defensive talent. It was big block appeal with an average three interceptions per game.
In 1991 he was drafted at number 4 by the Denver Nuggets. He had competed in their shirt until 1996, when he moved to Atlanta to play for them Hawks. In the 2001-02 season he competed in Philadelphia 76ersand then continued his career in New Jersey Netsin New York Knicks and finally to Rockets where he ended his career.
In his career he had participations in eight All Star Gameshad emerged leading defender four seasons;and three best in cuts. The Hawks and Nuggets have withdraws the jersey with it his favorite number, 55. In 2015 he had entered the Hall of Fame of the sport.
