THE Neboisa Covicits president Red Starwas elected to the presidency of the Serbian basketball federation, as it emerged from the General Assembly held today (1/10), and of course he will resign from the “red and whites”, as he cannot hold both positions at the same time.
This development caused the strong reaction of the president of Partizan, Ostoya Mikhailovichwho expressed his disagreement with the election of Covic and emphasized that it is one “cheap and unnecessary attempt at deception” where “it embarrasses anyone involved in our basketball”.
In detail what he wrote:
“OR They were partisans he did not support the candidacy of the newly elected president of the Serbian basketball federation (Mr. Nebojsa Covic), nor does he think that he is a good choice for Serbian basketball.
Without wanting to comment on who voted how and why, I must say that the presence of 28 out of 30 representatives does not constitute unanimity and such a definition is a cheap and unnecessary attempt at deception.
I believe that the president of the federation should be a respectable, honest and capable man and that this decision reduces and it embarrasses anyone involved in our basketball in any way”.
