The first was held on Sunday at the Corinth Shooting Range Panhellenic PCC raceof the 9 mm caliber rifle for distances up to 100 meters. This is a competition that in Greece started this year with a delay of about 5-6 years compared to the rest of the countries.
In this weapon there are two categories, the optics in which the rifles have a red dot sight, so athletes have a significant advantage of quick aiming and the category with fixed sights (iron sights).
In the competitive part at optics category first ranked o Michalis Hatzigiannis who continued his amazing performances and wrote his name in golden letters in shooting history by being the first Panhellenic winner at PCC. Second came one of the leading Greek shooters of shouldered weapons, O George Philippou. A common feature of the first two in this class is the Schmeisser rifle with the Aimpoint optical aid. Third in the ranking came the young and lucky Nikos Spatoulas from Corfu. On the island of Faiako, it seems that a very good job is being done since there were quite a few shooters from the island with a good presence. The performances of Vogindroukas Konstantinou from Serres, Doula Vassilis and Kandilis Dimitris, shooters with great experience in the pistol, who took fourth, fifth and sixth place respectively, were excellent.
In senior subcategory first was Lazaros Politakis, second was Alexandros Hamlatzis and third was Oleg Prosvirov.
Maneta Fotini, Oikonomou Paraskevi and Hatzikidi Olga were notable for taking the first three positions among women.
In category of fixed sights the Yannis Topalidis he managed to win in a very ambiguous race with substitutions until two stages before the end and to be crowned Panhellenic champion and in the PCC after the leokano. How great this victory was can be seen from the fact that second was Fanis Sifakis and third was Yiannis Kouletsis, shooters of enormous experience with recent participation in the World Rifle Championship that took place a month ago in Finland and who brought important distinctions.
The PCC seems to be well received by a large portion of practice shooters, and a National team will participate in the first Czech World Cup next May.
