Heavy friendly loss for Bucks without Giannis in Detroit, debut for Towns with Knicks

The Bucks suffered a heavy 120-87 friendly loss to the Pistons in Detroit, in their first test ahead of his new season NBA. THE Giannis Antetokounmpo not used, as is Chris Middleton who is coming off “cleaning” on both ankles. Damian Lillard with 15 (5/10 shooting) and Bobby Portis with 16 points (5/7 shooting) were the leading scorers for Doc Rivers’ team. Jaden Ivy with 22 points stood out for the Pistons, while Cade Cunningham had 13 along with 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Knicks beat Charlotte 111-109 with him Karl-Anthony Towns to make his first appearance with the New York team. The center acquired in a trade from the Timberwolves had 10 points (5/6 shooting, 2/7 shooting), 4 rebounds and 2 steals in 15 minutes. Miles McBride had 22 points for the winners, while Landry Samet with 16 and Precious Achiua with 15 followed. Jalen Brunson had 12 in 15 minutes (on 5/11 shooting), while Mikal Bridges added 4 in 13 minutes (on 2/5 shooting). For the Hornets, LaMelo Ball had 18 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds in 19 minutes.

Finally, the Raptors with 17 points by ARJ Barrett prevailed 125-98 of the Wizardswho got 16 points from Jordan Poole and 15 from No. 2 overall pick Alex Sarr.
