AEK “cleaned” Riga with the block

AEK is close to the “32” of the Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup. The Union defeated Latvian side Riga 3-1 at home in their first leg for the second round of the competition and head to the Latvian capital next week to seal their place in the next round.

Union had led 8-5 and 12-8 in the third set, but the Latvians took advantage of the mistakes of the “yellow and black” and, with the pressure on the serve, managed to reduce to 2-1.

Giangrosi Pasqualino did not have the French Julie Oliveira at his disposal.

The leader for AEK was Polynopoulou with 18 points and an impressive 82% in the attack (14/17 completed) and 3 blocks, while Edwards in the two sets she played scored 13 points with 5 blocks. Hadava had 9 points with 4 blocks.
