The decision to retire from tennis after a huge career of more than 25 years was announced by the great, Rafa Nadal!
The Spanish tennis player, one of the best of all time, with a video on his personal account on “X” thanked the sport and the world in all languages, announcing his retirement after Davis Cup in December 2024which will be held in Malaga.
In detail in his post he states:
“I am here to inform you that I am retiring from professional tennis,” said the 38-year-old tennis player, holder of 22 Grand Slams, with sadness in his eyes. “The truth is that the last few years have been difficult, especially these last two. I couldn’t play without restrictions. It’s a difficult decision that took me time to make, but in this life everything has a beginning and an end. I believe the time is right to bring an end to a career that has been long and far more successful than I could have ever imagined.”
The 38-year-old tennis player has managed to win a total of 22 Grand Slams, including 14 at Roland Garros, twice at Wimbledon, as many at the Australian Open and four times at the USA Open.
