This year, the Olympic Village Training Center will be the focal point for the National Work Sports Games, where competitions will be held in 14 sports. Compared to last year, the participations are quite high, which proves that work sports have become part of the lives of Greek workers.
Every year, dozens of studies highlight the positive effects of sports that are also related to the working environment and, in fact, encourage employers and employees to join similar actions. Based on all these researches, the National Organization for Occupational Sports and Health will for the 12th year organize the National Occupational Sports Games, which are now an institution for our country.
Hundreds of employees will represent their companies and will take part, among others, in football, basketball, swimming, table tennis, bowling, road races, chess, etc., while individual employees also have the right to compete.
In addition to the National Sports Training Center of Olympic Village, matches will also be held at the facilities of OAKA, Athens Beach Center, Acharnai Tennis Academy, Game On Darts, Renti Arena Soccer Club, Renti Star Football Club, Seven Sports Club, Strike Bowling Center and Palaio Faliro Petanque Club.
This year the event is a pioneer and has included in its program the “Run 4 Diversity”, which is organized by the French Federation of Working Sports and co-financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. Participants will compete in a 3 km individual walk and a 6 km pair run and the race promotes the importance of diversity, social cohesion and equality in the workplace.
