by

Neokles Avdalas caught the eye again with his excellent performance in Peristeri’s win over Panioni last week, continuing to improve and show us his talent!

The young guard spoke on an ERT show about the five career records he broke against the “historical”, about this year’s challenge in Dovefor what he has received from his presence at Panathinaikos and for the dream of the NBA!

What the young guard said in detail:

About his performance in the match against Panionios: “It was definitely a match that gave me confidence. We played nice basketball, as a team. We got energy. I wanted to get some energy out too. I started from the defense. I got aggressive stuff too. I always want to start on defense. This gives me confidence. When the coach also trusts me, he gives me more time and I can do more”.

On his dream of playing in the NBA: “My dream is to play in the NBA, but as a rookie it’s about becoming the best version of myself, improving as much as I can, using my talent and reaching as high as I can”.

On his choice to play in Peristeri: “All the players want to succeed. We are thirsty for victories and successes. A very nice ensemble has been built with good characters and good players. With work and humility, if we give 100% every day, something good will come out”.

About his presence at Panathinaikos: “Panathinaikos means a lot to me. I went there since I was little. I have been since I was 13. Panathinaikos is always in my heart. People have helped me a lot. It was unheard of for me to work with such good players and go straight into the deep end. I came from Kalamata to the Academies of Panathinaikos. I wanted to get as many pictures as I could. Ioannis Papapetrou was a player who impressed me from the start both as a character and as an athlete. It helped me a lot when I was little”.

On what he needs to improve in his game: “I definitely need to improve my shooting and my dribbling, to improve. I have to lower more because I’m a tall guard. I’m definitely not the fastest. Shorter guards are also faster. I have to improve my dribbling to be able to pass more easily, not to have the ball stolen from me and to be able to bring the ball down, of course”.
