On the third day at the World Table Tennis Youth Contender in Kosovo, Alexandros Madesis and Giorgos Kosmas qualified for the main draw in the Under 19 age category, Afroditi Sarikakis in the Under 15 and Cleo Madesis in the Under 11 with new remarkable performances.
With the second place from her group, the little sister of Alexandros is already in the top six, as, due to the limited participations, there is a board of “8” with two byes. Madesis and Sarikaki advanced to the table of 16 with first place in their respective groups, while Kosmas took second place.
On Sunday, the last day of the competition, the children chase as high as possible.
Evangelia Meramvelliotaki also came close to entering the knockouts in the girls’ Under 19, but missed her goal in the details.

In Pristina the tables start on Sunday morning. In the round of “16” in Under 19 boys, the draw brought obstacles from Turkey. Madesis faces Arda Edis, who came second from the second group and Kosmas against Halil Zer, winner of the sixth group.
In a similar tableau in the girls’ Under 15, but with four byes, Sarikaki competes in the first round against the Kosovar Yoninda Ibrahimi (she was second in the fourth group) and in the Under 11, Madesi has a quarterfinal against Mongolia’s Ayalgu Erdenequag.
In the category of boys Under 19 there were eight groups. Madesis very stable emerged as the winner in the seventh group. In the beginning, he beat the Bulgarian leader Stefan Dimitrov with 3-1 sets (11-5, 11-9, 4-11, 14-12) and in the late afternoon the Kosovar Roni Koloni with 3-0 sets (11-4, 11 -9, 11-8).
Kosmas competed in the fifth group and took the second privileged position. In the premiere, he lost to the first favorite of the group, the English Conor Green with 3-0 sets, but he was completely competitive (9-11, 11-13, 7-11). In the third match, he defeated Adriatik Malokus from Kosovo with 3-0 sets and reached the qualification (11-1, 11-9, 11-4).
In the Under 15 girls category, six groups were created. Sarikaki participated in the last one and took the first place undefeated. In the beginning, she prevailed in all the critical moments of the leader, the Bulgarian Kalina Stefanova, and prevailed with 3-1 sets (11-8, 11-8, 2-11, 12-10). Then she defeated Kosovar Mahira Sogeva with 3-0 sets (11-8, 11-1, 11-5) and in the end she defeated Ayola Behluli from the same country without a fight.
In the category of girls Under 11 there were three groups and Madesis was in the first. The 10-year-old champion had an expected run as she lost for the second time in the tournament to top seed Turkala Zeynep Duran in 3-0 sets (6-11, 6-11, 5-11) and was superior against Rosella Abazi of Kosovo for the final 3-0 (11-2, 11-2, 11-2).
In the category of girls Under 19 the qualifying groups were 3. Meramvelliotaki was in the last and fought until the end for the qualification. In the first match, she was ahead of the Bulgarian leader Viktoria Persova, but lost 3-1 sets (21-19, 5-11, 6-11, 6-11). She then defeated Kosovar Lene Osmani with 3-1 sets (11-7, 8-11, 11-9, 11-7) and in the decisive third round she lost to Turkala Defne Karaoglu in four sets to remain third in the ranking (11 -6, 10-12, 7-11, 6-11).
