Olympiacos-Panathinaikos: Second derby of the season at the packed SEF

by

Almost a month after they met in his final Super Cup in Rhodes (on September 29) Olympiacos and Panathinaikos AKTOR face off again, for the 4th matchday of the Stoiximan GBL (27/10, 20:15, ΕRT3).

This derby finds the two teams in… opposite psychological states. The “red and white” are coming off a painful defeat in Munich with a score of 84-80 against Bayernwhile the “greens” got a great “double” in Polis with a score of 81-76 over Fenerbahce. But these are of little importance, since we have seen in the past that good psychology and deformation go “walk” when we talk about “eternal” derbies.

Regarding the league, the two teams are the only unbeaten so far. THE Olympic he went 3/3 in his games with her Carditsa away, Aris at home and Lavrios away, having the best performances of the three matches both in attack (90.66) and in defense (69.33). THE Panathinaikos AKTOR began his own attempt in the Championship by defeating Karditsa away, PAOK away and the AEK Betsson at home and having the second best offense (90), in the first three matches.

As far as the competitive news of the two teams is concerned, from the Olympiakos point of view it is doubtful o Nigel Williams-Gosswho did not play against Bayern as he was unfit. Not counted in the domestic roster o Shaquille McKissickwhile Giorgos Bartzokas will need to “cut” one of the 7 foreigners in the team.

On the part of Panathinaikos, Ioannis Papapetrou remains bedridden after the gastroenteritis that afflicted him, while Ataman was given the Dino Mitoglou. He will be left out Marius Grigoniswho is suffering from a back muscle spasm and was replaced on the domestic roster by Chedi Osman. Of course, one of the 7 foreigners in the group will have to be “cut”.

Messrs. Tsimbouris, Tiganis and Christinakis will be the referees in the first big Stoiximan GBL derby.
