Sporting Lisbon “woke up” in the second half and increased its lead. Last year’s Portuguese champions won comfortably 3-0 at home to Famalicao for matchday nine of the Primeira Liga, temporarily moved +6 clear of second place at the top and look set to defend their title, leaving the hosts -3 off the favorites quartet.
Ruben Amorim’s players struggled in the first half, but in the second they broke out and scored with Yokeres in the 57th minute, Kenta in the 63rd minute and Gonzalo Inacio in the 86th minute.
Still fighting for a place in Europe are Moreirense, who beat Boavista 2-0 in Porto and left them +1 out of the danger spots.
Up goes Estoril, who swept Aruca 4-1 at home and left them at +2 from the dangerous positions.
