THE Haris Markopoulos his new coach Hercules!
As announced by Thessaloniki, the 42-year-old coach is his replacement Petar Alexic in the technical leadership of the team, returning to Geraios after 17 years and taking on the difficult task of bringing Iraklis back to the top division.
Hercules’ announcement:
“We announce the agreement with Haris Markopoulos, who will be our team’s coach until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
Haris Markopoulos was born on January 20, 1982 in Thessaloniki and comes from HERACLES, as in our team he took his first steps as an athlete in the infrastructure divisions, reaching the men’s team. He has won the Panhellenic Championship for Children and Teenagers with HERACLES in the same season (1997-1998).
He began his coaching career alongside his father Soulis, in PAOK in the 2005-2006 season.
The first team, which he took over as the first technician, was HERACLES in the 2006-2007 season, in the A2 league.
This was followed by his tenure in the coaching staff of Aris (2008-2009) and PAOK (2009-2014).
In the two years 2014-2016 he worked in Korivos Amaliadas. The following year (2016-2017) he worked at Doxa Lefkada.
For five years (2017-2022) he was on the technical staff of the Beijing Ducks in China.
He returned to Greece and in the 2022-2023 season he was a member of the technical staff of Prometheus Patras”.
