Darida: “I have a renewal proposal from Aris, Manzios shows me respect”

It was revealing Vladimir Darida in an interview he gave in his hometown and on the “sport.cz” website. The Czech midfielder, who was photographed with his compatriots Jakub Brambets and Martin Friedek holding the Greek flag, announced that he has accepted a contract renewal offer from Mars.

“At some point I will return to the Czech Republic and that is certain as we are building a house in Hradec. It will all depend on when I get back. I have a contract with Aris until the summer and a week ago I received an offer to extend it. Right now I don’t have a clear answer about what I’m going to do. I want to see my body’s reaction and whether I will be healthy as motivation is out of the question. I might get injured… There’s a lot to think about and it’s only a matter of time before I make my final decision“, emphasized the 34-year-old ace.

Regarding the decision to buy a house in Greece and whether this is a harbinger of staying, he commented:I bought a house in Thessaloniki purely for financial reasons. Rents are incredibly high. And so we decided to buy a house and sell it when we leave“, he said, demonstrating one of the main problems of Greek society.

Vladimir Darida also mentioned his role in the team. “Until the summer I had a key role and my position changed in the last few weeks. The team achieved good results and the coach does not want to touch the starting line-up. I basically know something unknown to me and it is not easy to come into the game as a change. However, I have never put my ego above the team and I don’t have the slightest problem with the coach who respects me and if something changes, I will be ready to respond. It’s all about management.
