In Greece, the Balkan Athletics Championship until 2027

The Balkan Athletics Federation, during Saturday’s meeting in Sofia, accepted the Greek proposal for our country to host the Balkan Athletics Championship from 2025 to 2027.

Greece’s intention to host the Balkans in 2025 has been known for some time, but it was deemed appropriate to claim the games of the following two years as well, which will finally and officially happen.

The 2025 Balkans will take place at the reconstructed stadium of Volos, July 26-27. SEGAS has already secured the resources that will upgrade the event and once again bring strong names from the Balkans to the games.

At the same time, the Hellenic Classical Sports Federation proposed and was accepted by ABAF to be held together with the Balkan A/C and the Balkan Championships of composite events A/C, U20 and U18.

The administration of the Federation had already taken the necessary actions and, thus, the advisor to the administration and vice-president of ABAF, Lambros Papakostas, got the “yes” from the members of the Balkan Union.

During the SEGAS Board meeting on Monday, Lambros Papakostas informed the board members about the meetings he had in Sofia with ABAF and EA people.

5/10 Balkan Men’s/Women’s Marathon Championships, Skopje

8/11 Balkan Rough Terrain Championship Campulung Moldovenesc (Romania)
