Soretire: “We didn’t come here to… hide, we want to play aggressively”

by

THE Sola Soretire spoke ahead of PAOK’s match with Manchester United (07/11, 22:00) at the regular press conference. The 20-year-old initially referred to his former team, the “red devils”, saying that if he scores he will not celebrate, while then the Englishman emphasized that they will not… hide, but will play aggressively.

What he said:

On his return to Manchester: “When I found out that we will be playing here, I was very excited. It’s nice to be back at Old Trafford. My feelings were good, but it reached a point in my career where I had to leave and PAOK was an ideal choice for me. We came here to win and we will do everything for it.”

On how he feels about being the youngest player in team history: “It’s a blessing for me to be part of United’s history. I’m grateful for that.”

On whether the manager has asked for Manchester United information: “The coach in these matters is much smarter than me, he knows what he has to do and that’s why we didn’t have any such discussions. He does a very good job also in the preparation of the matches”.

On whether he has asked the coach if he will play: “My job is to train every day as best as possible to improve. We haven’t talked about anything like that. I’m ready to take my chances.”

On United’s predicament: “These things happen in football, in this period after the change of coach it is logical that there is a disturbance. They want good results, but so do we.”

On whether he’ll celebrate if he scores: “If I score, I will not celebrate the goal. I have received a similar question from many friends and acquaintances these days. I respect what I’ve been through and what I’ve lived here.”

On how difficult it is for PAOK to get a result: “Just because we’re playing United doesn’t mean they’re automatically going to beat us. This is football. We don’t want to come to the stadium and… hide. We want to play aggressively.”
