Definitely without him Giannouli Larentzakis will travel to Great Britain the National team of Greece for the first match against the British in the Eurobasket qualifiers. As expected and confirmed on statements of and the federal coach Vasilis Spanoulisthe Greek guard will not be in the mission of the “blue and white”, since apart from a shocking prospect he will be in the 12th round of his match Olympiakou with Baskonia (21/11, 21:15).
And this because his injury Tyler Dorsey in the hip does not allow him to compete in the “red and white” match against the Basques, therefore Lorentzakis will take his place. Initially, Olympiacos, EEC and the player had discussed and the player was to travel normally to Great Britain, since anyway he is out of the mission for most of this year’s Euroleague matches. As we mentioned above, however, Tyler Dorsey’s injury changed that.
After Thursday’s game, however, Larentzakis will normally be integrated into the national team for the second appointment with Great Britain (24/11, 18:30), in Pylaia. It should be noted, finally, that in Thursday’s match in Great Britain Michalis Luntzis will be the captain.
We remind you, Vassilis Spanoulis sent an invitation to 16 players for the preparation, which will include training sessions at Peristeri on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
Thursday’s match against Great Britain will start at 21:30while on Friday (22/11) the team of the national team will go to Thessaloniki, in view of the match on Sunday (24/11, 18:30) at the indoor stadium of Pylaia.
Since Panathinaikos (22/11 with Zalgiris in Kaunas) and Olympiakos (21/11 with Baskonia in SEF) have obligations in the Euroleague, Spanoulis called only three players of the “eternal” in the preparation, but after the development with Larentzakis there were two left: Dimitris Moraitis from the “green” and Naz Mitrou-Long from the “red and white”.
The latter is one of a total of five players who have not yet played for the National Team, while the other four are Neoklis Avdalas, Stelios Poulianitis, Antonis Karagiannidis and Yiannis Karakostas.
