Panathinaikos was defeated with a score of 84-77 by Zalgiris in Kaunas, in a match where two former NBAers with very good terms in the league faced each other, the Kendrick Nunn and the Lonnie Walker.
And if the guard of our “cloverleaf” is already known as he is going through his second season in Europe, the player of Lithuanian he’s only had a few weeks on the ‘old continent’ and he’s already showing he’s capable to change the data with his talent.
After helping his team prevail against Panathinaikosscoring 25 pointsWalker gave an interview to BasketNews and praised Nunn, with whom he was teammates in the Lakers.
In detail what he said:
“Kedrick Nunn is an amazing player. I don’t want to disparage anyone or what they do… In my first two games, I played 12 minutes. During my first game at Bayern, I was only in Europe for two days and that has nothing to do with adaptation. I was still jet-lagged, tired and short on time. I played 12 minutes in my first game and 15 minutes in the second.
I think as the games go on and the more practices we have, I will continue to improve. But Kendrick Nunn has been a great inspiration and motivator for me. I love this guy to death. I’ve been with him since the Lakers, I knew him long before the Lakers.
Somehow life brought us back together this season. He is my man, my brother, and I continue to watch what he does and imitate how he does it in the EuroLeague. I want to follow this route too.
We are both from America, and we are both scorers. We both have that hunger. We both play to prove something and at the end of the day we know how to do it. Like I said, this is my brother. I love this guy.
We didn’t say anything before the match. As far as I know he doesn’t talk much. He likes to score more. He is a silent executioner. He made some great pick-n-rolls and hit big threes. That is, as expected.”
