In positions 33-64 of the single in the Portuguese Feeder Toliou

by

On Monday and on her name day, Katerina Toliou battled to ’64’ for a narrow lead against Korea’s Ryu Hana, before losing 3-0 sets and ranked 33-64 on Portugal’s World Table Tennis Feeder. He holds, of course, the two victories and the qualification to the main board of a strong event, as well as the generally good appearance.

We remind you that Elizabeth Terpou also competed in the Portuguese city and had one win and one loss in the singles qualifiers.

In the Portuguese WTT Feeder Toliu (number 56 in the seeding of the competition) faced Rio Hana, who as number 36 in the tournament was directly on the main board. Like herself, the Korean did not have enough participation in international tournaments in 2024, however, her placement in places 17-32 in India’s powerful Star Contender stood out.

The experienced champion put pressure on us with her defense, she would have given the match another turn if she won the first set, but in the end she was eliminated with a 3-0 set.

In the opening set, he found himself four points behind, successfully fought back and took the set to overtime. The situation was even until the middle of the second set (6-5), but Rio escaped there with a run. Our champion was close to the score in the next set as well, but the Asian made the most of her serve.

AX’S SUCCESSFUL FIRST APPEARANCE IN BULGARIA’S FIRST DIVISION

The next piece of news concerns another athlete of our national women’s team. Tsekura has closed two collaborations with clubs from neighboring countries this year, at the weekend she made her debut in the first national division of Bulgaria and in a few days she will compete in the corresponding division of Turkey.

In her first year in Bulgaria she wears the jersey of Asarel Medet. In the championship, which is in progress and is done collectively, the team played four matches and had three wins and one loss. The 2018 Greek women’s doubles champion lost only one individual game and among her winning results, the one against Kalina Hristova stood out. Not only because last September she was defeated in their match at the WTT Feeder in Bulgaria, but also because this athlete is also known to the Greek public from her successful appearance in AEK last year.

Ioanna Gerasimatou also participates in the interclub championship of Bulgaria, as is well known. She is competing for the third season in a row in the champion Comfort and had already made her start this year. The champion of Greece in women’s singles and doubles in 2023 also competed in the last two days and enjoyed new victories for both her team and herself.
