The result of the Faliro derby between Olympiakos and AEK was commented on by Sakis Tsiolis – among other topics – in the Trial on SKAI.
The Greek coach referred to the overthrow of PAOK in Tripoli, the victory of Panathinaikos in Agrinio, Almeida and the defeat of Aris.
What he said in detail:
For the arbitration:
“We have not done preliminary work for the Greek referees. We see and will see in the playoffs how many problems and complaints we will have from the teams and about the foreign referees.”
For the victory of Olympiakos in the derby with AEK:
“We saw that Medilibar was asking Tzolakis to play the ball on the sides so that Olympiacos would constantly attack. Olympiacos showed from the derby with PAOK in Toumba that it is promoted and in the game with AEK, it took advantage of the inertia in the defense of the Union and reached such a wide victory in Georgios Karaiskakis. AEK played high and paid for it by conceding three goals in the second half”.
On the overthrow of PAOK in Tripoli:
“PAOK has metal and character, but they again found obstacles from Asteras. After the 55th minute of the match, PAOK took measures and managed to achieve the reversal. It should be emphasized that the defeat came from the inaction of the Astera player who did not follow Baba. Lucescu is one of the favored coaches and kudos to the owner of PAOK for supporting him and letting him have absolute control of the team.”
For the difficult passage of Panathinaikos from Agrinio:
“Panathinaikos had its lines close, it brought out tension, went high and came away with an important double from Agrinio. When Bakasetas is at his best, Panathinaikos can get points. These victories, as they came, build the teams and give them metal to move forward.”
About Almeida and his future at AEK:
“People support him and everyone wants the Argentinian coach to continue at AEK. The issue is what the team owner thinks of the Union coach. Almeida offered to AEK and celebrated a double with the team, but he himself will understand that if another negative result comes that maybe it would be good to end his cooperation with the club because sometimes for coaches when things are not good it is redemption for them to leave.”
On the new loss of Aris in the Championship that “knocked” him off the top:
“Aris for the second consecutive game that most people expected to get points and I, for my part, even expected to be winter champion, unfortunately there were two bad results, especially from Volos, which disappointed people. Let’s see what management will be done, because the away derby with AEK in New Philadelphia is also following. Aris, after the defeat by Volos, fell to fifth place, but a victory over AEK will put them firmly in contention for the top four. I think the champion will be decided in the playoffs.”
