Sad Panathinaikos surrendered unconditionally to Ephesus

Panathinaikos never appeared in the city! His team Ergin Ataman had a second consecutive bad match, was defeated with a heavy 93-67 by the Anatolou Efes at the Basketball Development Center and suffered the fourth negative result in its last five Euroleague games.

In the second part, Panathinaikos came in strong and found quick baskets in the open court by Huacho and Osman for 45-38. Poirier rose up and nailed the visitors’ basket (47-38), before doing the same with one hand for 49-38. Osman temporarily reduced the score with a layup (49-40), but Nuora came back with three-pointers and brought Efes to +12 (52-40). Bryant restored +15 for the hosts with a goal foul (55-40), while after consecutive missed attempts by Papapetrou, Poirier and Thompson sent Efes to +19 (59-40). THE Osman made it into double figures with a three-pointer and cut it (59-43), but Larkin got it back for the home team with a long shot of his own (62-43). Bryant drove to the basket after his assist Thompson (64-43), before Mitoglou made two shots for 64-45. The third period ended with an impressive 68-46 in favor of Efes.

Ephesus-Panathinaikos

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Nuora and Bobois extended even more the lead of Efes, which took the dimensions of a triumph (72-46). The remaining minutes of the game were procedural, with the home team getting close to +30 thanks to Bobois (77-48), before Slukas hit a three-pointer for 77-51. The leader of the greens and Grant they dropped the difference a little (79-58), with Thompson to score for 81-58. Oturu nailed and took the foul too (85-58), with Bobois continuing to score anyway for 87-58. In the final procedural minutes, nothing changed other than a couple of spikes from Costa Antetokounmpo on his return, and Efes got the big win.
