Guardiola: ‘If we keep losing, I might get fired – I don’t give up on my players’

With one win in the last ten games the Manchester City is going through a deep crisis and even he himself Pep Guardiola he realizes that if the negative results continue, he may lose his job. However, he made it clear that he is not going to resign and leave his team at the most difficult moment of his tenure.

The owners know when the situation is bad and when we lose games. If this continued we couldn’t afford it and I wouldn’t be here next month or the year after. The reality is, we can’t lose forever. People may think that with what we have achieved in the past I will never be fired, but we coaches are judged every day. With a bad season, you can leave. Management knows I’m not going to resign, they should fire me if they deem it necessary. I want to be next to my players. We have lost a lot of matches, more than in two years. Something bad is going on, but I put myself first and think about what I can do better. If I left now I wouldn’t be able to sleep. I wouldn’t give up on my players. If management wants to, let them do it“, Guardiola emphasized.
