Announcement of Panathinaikos AO on the arbitration with Athenaikos: “We disturb them when we are at the top”

For the second week in a row we witnessed defiant refereeing against us in the A1 women’s basketball championship.

After the unacceptable decisions in Serres that led to the defeat by Panserraikos, the match against Athinaikos came today to confirm that Panathinaikos… is a nuisance when it is at the top.

Thanks to two back-to-back games “operated on” by the Panathinaikos basketball team, they managed to drop it from first place.

Today’s decisions of Spyropoulos, Argyroudis and Papadopoulos determined the winner of the match and the trio were whistling…thieves throughout the match.

We were surprised to see the opponent’s best athlete, Jessica Sheppard, race 39:16, be in all the duels and finish the race with… zero fouls!

Throughout the match, the decisions were against the “clover”, however, it made an impression in the third quarter when Stamolambrou put Panathinaikos ahead 44-41 and … automatically the “clover” was charged with 5 team fouls in 2.5 minutes and Stamolambrou received a technical penalty for flopping which ..imagined the trio.

As if that wasn’t enough, the Panathinaikos bench also received a technical penalty at 53-56 in order to increase the difference.

The shots made by the two teams are also indicative, with Panathinaikos going to the foul line 15 times and Athenaikos 26, with the “green” Tsvitkovics and Hadjileontis having 4 fouls since the third quarter.

Panathinaikos demands respect and equality and the competent authorities must realize that it is the Association that gives the greatest glamor to the sport.

We have a permanently full stadium, presence in all age categories and a glorious history since 1937 that cannot be tarnished by refereeing that provokes the sports fan feeling.
