Yatras: “If there were basketball police, they would take me in – Take a step back, or I will destroy the project”

After the completion of the first round of Stoiximan GBL, o Colossus of Rhodes is at the bottom of the standings, having only 1 win in 11 matches and showing a very poor competitive image.

After the home defeat by Peristeri, Makis Giatras made a severe self-criticism and sent a message of resignation from the team’s technical leadership less than a month after taking over, stressing that his presence is harming the club.

In detail what he said:

“I’ve been a basketball dodger, these days I’m here if there were basketball police they’d take me in. What I do are crimes. If I keep doing them there won’t be a player to play in Colossus.

Today there were a lot of problems, but I don’t like excuses and I’m not interested in saying what happened before or after. The first thing a coach does when he goes to a team is to change the mentality. To give a mood, while the children want and try, I think I blocked them. I pointed out some things that were known, they knew it and instead of getting positive results we got negative ones…

I want to say a big thank you to the world. The people of Rhodes got bitter at this moment from the team. To support the team, I was happy that he was around, there are people who love the team, I believe that the team will stay in A1.

And I think I have to take a step back. For me it is a disaster individually, but I think the project must be changed again, because if I stay here we will be half, I will destroy the project and I have no purpose and no reason to do such a thing. By no means. I have been here very few days, but I feel like I am 100 years old and I will never harm my knowledge. And because I have knowledge and I have experience, if I continue to be here I will do damage.”
