The touching message of Dimatos for Galanopoulos

by

After a… whole life in AEKo Costas Galanopoulos leaves the “yellow and black” and will continue his career in Cyprus with APOEL.

The former communication director of PAE AEK and current UEFA executive, Andreas Dimatoswith an emotional post on Facebook, wished the 27-year-old ace good luck in his career, also revealing some stories from their joint presence all these years in the “Union”.

Andreas Dimatos’ post in detail:

“Get up, warm up, you’ll get in”…

I wasn’t sure if Timur Ketspaja meant the peevish Galanopoulos, but I picked up my phone just in case… That’s where the shot comes from!

Just three months before, in the last match of the 2015-16 season, he had made his official debut with the first team of AEK in Nea Smyrni against Panionios.

In the first official match of the following season, he was to make his European debut, before he turned 19, at Joffrey Guisard against Saint Etienne. He came on in the 67th minute of the match in place of Vargas, played alongside Simoes and Johansson, did the job with immense comfort as if he expected it… He just wanted the chance!

An opportunity that he almost didn’t get even in the K17 of AEK, when for a moment he believed that he was not good at football and thought of giving up. Then she cried even more easily…

Shortly after, Stelios Manolas had no difficulty distinguishing him in the U19 of the Union and long before he was trusted in the first team, he had no problem proclaiming at the top of his voice that “we in the second team have a kid who is better than Simoes”… He convinced very few. then!

I will never forget in the meeting with Vladan Milojevic in October 2021 about the termination of his contract, the only concept of the Serbian technician was Galanopoulos! Close to two years after his injury problem cost him so much, he was preparing for a second surgery!

“I spoke with him today. At this age I have never met such a mature footballer. At this age, he tells you so cynically that ”I know it’s possible to stop playing football”… I ask you one thing! Watch out for this kid! It’s worth a lot,” said Vladan Milojevic. Galano was more concerned with the details of the termination of his contract…

Galano fought it… In many cases he was left alone or felt alone! He had learned where the instruments he needed for his recovery exercises were, he would get them himself, go to a corner of Spata, away from the rest of the group and fight it out. He had set his own limits on how far he would fight it and when he would give up. But he never put it down!

“As long as I don’t hurt, I will continue. As I go on I will fight it more. Day by day and wherever it comes out! If you don’t mind at this stage, let’s avoid photos and videos! Let’s wait for later”…

Whatever you want Kostis! Whatever you want!

He never complained about his unprecedented misfortune, nor did he break out somewhere else, he played alone with his limits and won.

In modern football there are no emotions, but in the case of Kostis there should be. Not because Galano is entitled to some preferential treatment, he never asked for it, but because such cases are patterns for a team. You show them in the locker room and demand that a team does not give up in any great difficulty!

And it’s good that they stay in the group! With their photo in the locker room! Especially in teams that no longer have a homegrown player even for a sample.

He was the only one… It could be Svarnas, Mitai, even Latsi if he confirmed the expectations!

What is certain is that Galanos will find his way! He will probably continue on his way… He didn’t lose him through so many difficulties! Just be good! Personally, I will be hugely impressed if he doesn’t return to the National team, if we don’t see even better things from him in the future. Where he himself decides that the continuation will be!
