With five matches and of course for the Panathinaikos-PAOK derby to stand out, the action continues in the 17th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League, which concludes tomorrow with the away match between Olympiakos and Panaitolikos.
Levadean-Panserraic
The last time the two rivals met at Super League level was in the 2008-09 season and the match between them at home Levadeiakos on November 1, 2008 ended in a 0-0 draw.
Their first meeting at A’ National/Super League level was on January 10, 1988, when Panserraikos prevailed 3-1 with a goal from Ilias Savvidis and two from Giorgos Papadopoulos, while Dimosthenis Kavouras had scored for the hosts.
This is also the only victory of the Serres team, with Levadeiakos winning their next two games, 3-0 in 1989-90 and 2-1 in 1990-91, while their last meeting (2008-09) was completed with a white draw.
Panserraikos, however, have kept an unbeaten run of four games in their games for the A’ National/Super League home and away. In these matches there are two victories of the Serres team and two draws.
In the first round match, the two teams drew 2-2, with Panserraikos taking the lead in the first half (Salazar 27′, Tsokai 44′) and Levadeiakos equalizing in the second with Balchi’s goals (55′) and Romo (79′).
Ares-OFI
For 17 consecutive matches in all competitions and categories, Aris has kept its unbeaten streak at home with OFI. 13 of those are in the Super League, where there are eight wins for the Yellows and five draws, with three of those being goalless.
The last of OFI’s five overall victories in the Aris stadium was on September 28, 2003, when the Crete team prevailed 2-1 thanks to the goals of Pavlos Adamos and Manolis Roubakis, while for Kitrinos, Kostas Franceskos.
Dinos Kouis had a special tradition in the matches against OFI at home, having scored 10 goals against the Cretans and even scored a hat trick in the 4-1 victory of Aris on January 17, 1983.
Head-to-head matches are usually high-scoring, with Aris winning seven by 3-1 scores. There are only four matches that did not have a goal in the total of 44 matches with Aris at home.
OFI has three wins with 2-1, while the other two are with 4-2 and 1-0. There is a 3-3 draw, while Aris have won six times 2-0.
Volos-AEK
AEK have won six consecutive home and away matches against Volos since their 1-0 home defeat on August 27, 2022, while in five of these six wins they have not conceded a goal. The only exception is the last victory of the Yellow and Black in Magnesia, on September 3, 2023 with 3-2.
On August 27, 2022, Volos won 1-0 against AEK for the 2nd matchday of the championship at the stadium of Rizoupoli, in the last game of the Yellow and Blacks before their return to their natural home.
AEK in Volos has two victories with 3-1, from one with 4-0 and 3-2 for the regular duration of the championship and one with 1-0 for the Stoiximan Playoffs.
It is typical that as a home team Volos has one win and five losses against AEK, while as a guest the results are divided into four AEK wins, two Volos wins and a draw.
The first meeting in their history was on December 20, 2018 for the Greek Cup, when Volos was in the second division and AEK won 3-1 in Magnesia, as happened the very next season for the Championship in Volos, on January 22 2020.
Fearless-ASTERAS AKTOR
After three consecutive draws between the two teams (two in Tripoli and one in Peristeri), they returned to winning ways and in the last two the away team prevailed. ASTERAS AKTOR with 1-0 in their match last year for the Stoiximan Super League Playouts and Atromitos with 2-1 in the match that took place in Tripoli for the First Round of this year’s championship.
The last time Atromitos had scored two wins against ASTERAS AKTOR was in the 2017-18 season, when they prevailed 1-0 at home for the 1st Round and won in Tripoli again 1-0, on the 17 February 2018. He has managed it one more season, in 2016-17 with two wins again with 1-0 and then with the First Round in Peristeri and the second in Arcadia.
The two teams have met for the regular duration of the league, for the Playoffs and the Playouts, with their overall tally being highly balanced, since there are 14 wins for Atromitos in both venues, 15 wins for ASTERAS AKTOR and 14 ties.
Atromitos in the first six matches that welcomed Asteras Tripoli did not even manage to score and had three defeats and three clean draws. Their first meeting was on August 6, 2008 and Asteras Tripoli won 2-0 thanks to goals from Cesarek and Damonte.
Panathinaikos-PAOK
In the last five matches, PAOK remains undefeated at the home of Panathinaikos, with the Greens having won last time on April 3, 2022 with 2-1 for the Playoffs of the championship, while their last victory for the regular season of the championship was on March 14 2021 with 2-1.
In recent years, the two teams have faced each other both for the championship and for the Greek Cup without actually having a sequence of results. In their last 20 games in all competitions, the home side has been confirmed just eight times, with the wins spread to four for each team.
Out of a total of 77 matches in their history with Panathinaikos as home team, only eight were scoreless and ended 0-0, while their most productive days are with 7 goals, in the 5-2 of the 2000-01 season and the 4- 3 of 2014-15. PAOK’s biggest away win against Panathinaikos is 3-0 in 2022-23.
This is the 78th meeting between the two teams since 1959-60, when the First National/Super League championship was established. The first match in their history took place on February 7, 1960 at the Alexandra Avenue stadium and Panathinaikos won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Vangelis Panakis.
