Totally committed to AEK stated the Levi Garcia speaking on his hometown radio station. The forward from Trinidad and Tobago mentioned the injuries that plagued him, but also the fact that he plays as a classic forward in Greece.
“At the moment I am playing in AEK, I am totally committed to it and I will stay there until a team with perspective is found that will agree on my future. The priority for us is the championship, that’s the number one goal at the moment“, he emphasized.
About his use in the forward position he said:Currently playing as a central striker in my team which has given me the opportunity to be looked at by bigger clubs and the stats which have improved dramatically. I honestly enjoy playing as a striker in AEK. It matters who plays behind me. And playing as a winger in the national team I think has given me more than playing as a striker. There is always pressure for the result and the goal, at all levels of football. Even at club level because everyone has expectations of you when you set your standards high. I do a lot of extra exercises at the end, I work on my fitness. I have spoken to top players who have played at the highest level. So I’m doing things both on and off the pitch to be in the right position and try to finish the phases right».
Referring to the injuries that have plagued him, he emphasized: “I am working on being healthy as much as possible and when I am in the national team, I will give 120% and do what I know best. There are always little bumps but I’m fine now and I’ll try to stay healthy. I know that when I am healthy, I will be able to help my country. I’m one of those players who want to play for their country so we can help the youth and open doors for our young players».
Finally, he also talked about working with the new coach of Trinidad and Tobago and former Manchester United legend, Dwight Yorke. “I had a conversation with Dwight York earlier when he took over. I think people still don’t understand how great he is and how much influence he will have in and around the team. I am very excited to work with him and hope he brings out the best in the team».
