Tsiokas continues in Qatar as the men’s national coach

Daniel Ciocca has been a coach in Qatar since September 2021. After the initial 1+1 year contract his deal with the country’s federation is open, which is why it was put under review some time ago. Tsiokas from Athens responded positively for renewal, in December he returned to Doha and these days he is sitting on the bench of his athletes at the Lusail Sports Arena, in the very strong Star Contender that will end on the 11th of the month.

The new agreement includes one more piece. Along with the technical guidance of Qatar’s best athletes, the top defender of the recent past will, from this year, also screen among players who have a perspective for the men’s national team. From Doha and the WTT Star Contender, Tsiokas expressed his great satisfaction to continue the cooperation with the Qatar federation and wished “a happy new year to all friends of table tennis, health, happiness and many successes”.

Wednesday afternoon also saw a very positive result in the mixed doubles, where Mohammed ABDULWAHHAB/Aia MOHAMED from Qatar beat Hwan BAE/Minhyung JEE from Australia 3-2 in sets and advanced to the eight.

* The action for 2025 in matches of the Swedish men’s league started yesterday Tuesday with a match between the two teams, in which the Greek champions compete. No “civil war” was recorded, however, because Konstantinos Angelakis was absent.
