The issue of coaches is, especially in Greecewhich has troubled many teams. Often, clubs get carried away by the negative results and withdraw confidence from the respective technicians, before giving them the necessary time to pass their own philosophy.
THE Demis Nikolaidis uploaded a video on his personal Instagram account and expressed his opinion on this matter, stressing that a team should give at least one year to a coach which continues a philosophy that already exists in the club, while a coach who has taken over the building from scratch it needs more time.
What he said in detail:
For the ideal length of time for a coach to stay with a team: “Depending on the philosophy a team has. If it is a built team and they get a coach based on the philosophy that was built, from the previous season, then they expect results, so the fastest they will expect someone to ask for performance at least is a year.
If you hire a coach to build a team, with a new philosophy, players and roster, it takes more time. You certainly expect to see results from the team’s performance. In two years you can understand the development, but things are not like that in Greece, we are more demanding results.
It happens that a coach comes along who gets results but it can be random and has no background. Despite everything, it affects the management that keeps him for the next season and pushes him from September to October. It depends on the policy that a PAE has.”
