Vitoria: “We know very well that the champions must have continuity in their performance”

The coach of the “greens” made it clear that he expects a difficult game, adding, however, that his team has prepared properly, while emphasizing that everyone knows very well that in order to win the title, they must present a consistently good competitive image.

In detail what the coach of Panathinaikos said:

“We know that it will be a very difficult game against Panserraikos. I have stated many times that while I am in Greece I have not come across any game that is easy in the league. We have encountered organized groups, which have specific characteristics, which they try to exploit. I think we have all the conditions to be able to win the match. We have to put our own characteristics into the playing field. Of course we have analyzed the opponent very well, we have a fantastic staff in that part, so we know what the strengths and weaknesses are. We have to enter the field with a lot of concentration, having in mind how we will impose our own ideas, our own game. And if we do that, we’ll be that much closer to winning the race.”.

On how pleased he is with the image of the “greens” recently and especially after the break: “We know very well that champions have consistency in their performance. They have consistently good results. They can’t be happy just because they’ve won some games, so that’s something we want to do. We know that no one becomes a champion in summer or winter. You become a champion at the end of the season”.

“What we want is to continue with wins, keep getting the three points to be close to or even at the top of the table and from there on when we reach the final stretch to be prepared to claim our chances to win the championship . Sometimes it seems easy what we do, the fact that we have a consistently good performance and consistently good results, however if we look at the past, not only of our own club, but also in general it happens in football to have good results in such a long time is not something easy. It is something very difficult.

Especially if you look back now and see all those results and the wins, the one draw and the one loss. This above all shows that we have fantastic footballers who have assimilated very quickly and with few training sessions due to the series of games, the ideas that I want to pass on to them. This leaves us very satisfied. The fact that we manage and change footballers all the time and our performance standards remain the same. This is what we are trying to insist on, to be as good as possible and to win the race in Serres”.
