by

Emmanuel Karalis was left out of the World Indoor Championships, which starts on Friday (18/3) in Belgrade. The Greek shooter, despite trying treatments in recent days, has not fully overcome the problem of biceps injury and SEGAS doctor, Dionysis Hissas, ruled after the last examination that the athlete is not able to enter a high level race, while there is also the risk of a serious relapse, which would cast doubt on his participation in the open season.

Karalis, who had not followed the rest of the mission to Belgrade (he was to travel on Friday), will continue his treatment and when he fully recovers from his injury he will start preparing for the summer season.

After the fourth place in the Tokyo Olympics and with 5.81m. This year in the indoor track, Karalis had high expectations from the World Championships in Belgrade, where he was considered among the medal contenders.

The Greek delegation for the World Indoor Championships now consists of six athletes: Milto Tentoglou, Costa Douvalidis, Nikos Andrikopoulos, Rafaela Spanoudaki, Elisavet Pesiridou and Irini Vassiliou.
