The president of Barcelona, Joan Laportawill appear before her judge Barcelona on Monday (20/1) as a suspect in a case alleged fraud.
The top executive of “Barca” is accused of cheating amounting to 4.7 million euros by a man who in 2014 won an award 34 million euros in La Primitivaa type of Spanish lottery.
The current Blaugrana president is said to have advised the winner’s family to invest in the company CSSB Limitedmanaged by former Barcelona general manager, Joan Oliver. The complaint alleges that Mr Laporta took advantage of the plaintiffs’ “lack of financial knowledge” and invited them to Camp Nou several times.
The family signed a contract, effective November 1, 2017, to invest part of the money in CSSB Limited with a capital of 2.4 million euros over three years and an annual interest rate of 6%. Laporta would mediate as advisoracting on behalf of the company and at the same time as the family’s lawyer.
Between 2016 and 2018 they were signed five separate loan agreements totaling 4.7 million eurowith an annual interest rate of between 6% and 7%. The family, which was supposed to make a profit 792,000 eurosclaims that he only collected 84,000 and that he did not receive a refund of the amount he invested.
THE Laportawho could face up to six years in prison, has consistently denied any ties to her CSSB Limitedthe company that also owned 57% of the football team Reusbefore its dissolution due to its financial problems.
