I want to congratulate him on his great achievement, I know he has tried, he has really worked hard in the last few years to achieve this and he really deserves everything he lives in the team’s shirt. Should I wish him to play so many more matches? He probably won’t want it because he has to play until he’s 45! However, I wish him that whatever games he still plays with our team’s jersey will be full of successes, team and personal, and that he will be healthy mentally and physically.”

Spanoulis: “Kostas deserves every honor and every record with Olympiakos. He has written his own history with the red and whites and continues to write it. For me, personally, Kostas is a special player and I think he is also for the world of the team. His huge contribution is not fully reflected in the numbers and statistics, but if you ask his teammates or coaches, they will all tell you how pivotal he was and remains in the successes that Olympiacos has achieved over the years. Kostas is an excellent character, he is a leader, he is a real leader, he always cares about the good of the team and I am really very proud of him. Tomic: “I had the pleasure and luck of knowing Kostas very young and I can say with certainty that from his first professional steps until now when he is the captain of Olympiakos, he is the same person, the same player, he has the same passion and the same love for the team and always gives 110% of his potential when he steps on the court. Either in training or in a match. He never “steals” and the work he does every day has now begun to be reflected in records. What more could a coach ask of a player? Kostas has the whole package, he is pivotal for his team, a great teammate and leader. If you look at his progress over the years, it makes perfect sense for him to achieve what he has achieved and I think he still has time to reach other peaks.
