«I want to thank Andrei Vatutin and the whole CSKA organization for giving me the green light and allowing me to coach my country’s national team. It’s a really big, huge price. I would also like to thank Mr. Liolios and other people in the Federation for their interest and the effort they made to bring me to this position.
As I have said before, something you want deep in your heart becomes a reality, you create the world in which you live. I know the expectations. Greeks are a proud people, they love basketball, it offers them happiness. I also know our obligations. “I wish our players stay healthy and I expect us all to work hard together.”
For his part, the President of the EEC Vangelis Liolios stated: «I would like to thank CSKA and President Vatutin personally for their cooperation throughout this period, which led to the positive response to the request of the Hellenic Basketball Federation.».
