From the first moment of the humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, the Hellenic Red Cross called for solidarity to support the hundreds of thousands of residents who have been forced to flee their homes and the response is already great after the first trucks of tons of food have departed. In this huge effort actively participated o ESAKE as the OEMs collected food during the matches of the 16th and 17th games of the Stoiximan Basket League.
The food (as well as the amount offered by ESAKE) was delivered by the Secretary General of the Board of the Association George Pantazopoulos in the central warehouse of the ECA in the presence of its president, Dr. Antoniou Avgerinou, actively supporting humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
For the offer of ESAKE o Mr. Pantazopoulos stressed: “ESAKE consistently demonstrates the solidarity of both the Association and the OEMs whenever there is a need. In this context, we delivered the food collected in the 16th and 17th games of the Stoiximan Basket League, actively participating in humanitarian aid for the victims of the war in Ukraine, in collaboration with the Greek Red Cross, whose action deserves many congratulations. The wish of all of us is to stop the war as soon as possible and not to lose other souls. For our part, we will continue to do our duty, to stand by those in need and the social actions of ESAKE will continue. Besides, they are evolving with great success in the framework of the memorandum of cooperation that has been signed between ESAKE and the Greek Red Cross, with the aim of supporting sports and highlighting the supreme value of volunteering “.
