Santos beat Água Santa by 3-2, on Saturday afternoon (19), at Vila Belmiro. With the result, the team led by Fabián Bustos went to 14 points and escaped relegation in the Campeonato Paulista. Ponte Preta and Novorizontino fell.
Even though they fought against relegation, the alvinegra team still had chances of qualifying for the quarterfinals, but they didn’t get the spot. Santo André beat Inter de Limeira and, with 15 points, took the second spot in Group D. The first was already for Red Bull Bragantino.
Santos started by losing the match. After ten minutes, Dadá Belmonte opened the scoring for Diadema’s team after a corner. The hosts then sought the turn, with Zanocelo, in a beautiful goal from the entrance of the area, at 12, and Ricardo Goulart, with a fish, at 16. Still in the first half, Kaiky extended his header after a corner kick.
If there were goals left in the first half, the second was lukewarm. The teams created less, and Água Santa reached their second goal from a foul. Rodrigo Sam headed with no chance for João Paulo.
Already classified, São Paulo beat Botafogo at home by 2 to 1. Rigoni opened the scoring at five minutes of the first half, and Jean equalized at 22 of the second half. At 40, Luciano scored the goal that gave the capital club the victory. Rogério Ceni’s team ended the first phase of the championship with 23 points, leading Group B.
Also already classified in first of their keys, Palmeiras and Corinthians will enter the field to fulfill the table this Sunday (20). Abel Ferreira’s team visits Bragantino, while Vitor Pereira’s team goes to Novo Horizonte to face Novorizontino. Both departures are at 4pm.
