PPC Tour of Hellas (XDS Astana): “The PPC Tour of Hellas was impressive from the beginning to the end”

by

Peter Kenyuk, XDS Astana’s athletic director at this year’s PPC Tour of Hellas spoke in the best words about the event, which he described as great from start to finish.

The 35 -year -old British is not only in recent years athletic director of the Kazakh World Tour team, but for those who do not know it he has been a great cyclist with a rich hits.

His victory in the Spanish round in 2016, the National Road Championships in 2014 and 2015, and on the track he also became an Olympian at the London team in 2012 with the British team.

In the same year he had emerged in the same race and world champion in Melbourne. Also, in 2011, MAN’s island, he became a European champion in the team Pursui in the event held in Aporers, the Netherlands.

In 2019, when he ended his career, he worked as a commentator at ITV4 in the France round and in 2024 announced his deal with XDS Astana, where Head of Performance is Vassilis Anastopoulos, the Greek legend of cycling in 2003.

Pete, as his caresser, knitted the praise for this year’s PPC tour of Hellas. When asked about the 2025 event that threw her “curtain” on Sunday she said:

“Honestly, it was a wonderful race, from start to finish. The event was excellent, the transport was very good, because you know it is important when you come as a team in the race, the staff did everything easier for cyclists, the dumplings were really good, with a variety, a combination of different types of downside and the support of the organization was really impressive, as I said.

• Do you think the presence of the two World Tour teams in this year’s PPC Tour of Hellas will “pull” the rest?

“I hope so. As I said before, I was impressed by the struggle and spread he had. It’s a little pellet and when you go out afterwards and talk about how good the PPC tour of Hellas was organizing and for the posts, it is easy for the event to grow and have a good reputation, it is a very good spot to start. ”

• How do you see the next day of business cycling?

“In the last ten to fifteen years, when I first went to the Sky Professional Team, the sport has changed a lot, improves year by year, technology, aerodynamics, nutrition, sport goes faster, the depth of pelt is better, we have more cyclists, of course we have the best. In the future I don’t know how far this development can reach, I think at some point it will catch a “ceiling” and has to stabilize. Currently cycling is difficult to predict, in terms of safety, climate impact on races, such as this year when the 3rd Turkish Tour of Hellas was canceled and was the third time in the season after New York and Paris – Nice. This changes a lot. But for the future I don’t know, I’m concentrating on the present. ”

• You are of course close to Vassilis Anastopoulos, who for us in Greece is a legend of cycling (he laughs: “Yes, I understood this”). How is your cooperation?

“Really good. At first I talked to him on the phone and Mark Caventis brought me in touch with Vasilis last year after the round of France and from our first conversation we had excellent cooperation. It’s always great support for me and the whole team. Every time I need something or I want to know something about the team, or anything will help immediately. And for me as a new person, I don’t know many, is the person I can rely on and trust to help me get into the XDS Astana team smoothly. ”

• You were an Olympian, but would you stand out as the best moment of your career?

“I don’t think. It was, as you know on the track in the team pouring at the 2012 Olympics in London. My dream has always been to move into a road racing and in the France. The track for me was to evolve on the road, that was my passion. But I am very proud of winning the gold medal, but I would distinguish my wins in national championships in my career. I was reading small cycling magazines and I was always impressed by the achievements of the cyclists on the street, so it’s something I am proud of and I have it in my heart. “
