Call to all parties involved for module is addressed by its announcement Euroleague Players Association (ELPA). As stated, the imminent creation of NBA European League and the steady divide between fiba and Euroleague Every other but the product helps.

The announcement in detail:

European basketball has been terribly developed in the last decade. As ever, European players leave their mark in the NBA. At the same time, US players have become idols of Europe’s leading basketball event, Euroleague, which in itself has become a worldwide reference to basketball. Known for its harsh competitiveness and the unparalleled atmosphere of its fans, the Euroleague continues to gain more and more the interest of fans worldwide.

Euroleague players are proud of the event in which they are competing. Through the Euroleague Players Association (ELPA), founded seven years ago, they were able to directly influence the working conditions at Euroleague through the first pan -European collective agreement in any sport that uploaded the standards of the championship and contributed to an even better spectacle on the pitch.

Despite significant progress, it should be recognized that there is still a lot of work to be done to reveal the true dynamics of European club basketball. This opportunity is lost when the relevant championships, clubs and administrative bodies do not work harmoniously, but as one appears against each other, without taking into account the perspective of players and fans who are the soul of each event.

ELPA recognizes and respects the significant contribution of NBA and FIBA to the development and global recognition of basketball. In fact, the NBA remains the inspiration for basketball players worldwide, who also aspire to play for their national teams at FIBA events.

Following the recent announcements of a possible creation of a new European basketball championship, it is clear that instead of fragmenting European club basketball, only united efforts will help to continue the development of the game in Europe. In a call for unity, ELPA appeals to all stakeholders to join forces to contribute to the development of European basketball. Let us work together to protect what the European game makes so special – its tradition, passion and competitiveness. Most importantly, our common focus must be in our loyal fans and we must not allow fragmentation and confusion to disturb their experience.

Looking at the future, Elpa remains committed to working collectively to secure a thriving future for European club basketball. The liberation of the real potential of the game in Europe cannot be achieved without the cooperation of all major stakeholders, including Euroleague and its players
