by

Interview with the Spanish newspaper El Pais was given by Stefanos Tsitsipasin view of his obligations to Open of Madrid!

The leading Greek tennis player, who is waiting to find out his opponent in the 2nd round of the tournament, talked about his career, pleased with what he has achieved in his career, and also talked about extraterrestrial issues, clarifying that he does not deal with politics.

In detail what he said:

To protect the environment: “It’s something that concerns me. I have made some donations but I would like to do more. I would like to get involved more and support a related project. And not to do it because I want to win something, but because I have a passion for it ».

About his relationship with politics: “I’m not watching politics. And to be honest I don’t even vote. I have never voted in my life and I have no information about these things. I believe in sports and the power that has to unite the world and change things. I very much admire those athletes who have earned a lot of money and then donations or use money for good purpose, especially in everything related to children and the planet. I feel that there are aspects that we do not see in relation to politics, they are not clean. There are many secret things ».

For whether he is happy with his career: “Yes, for some things, but I come from Greece, a country that had never achieved anything in tennis before. I was the first to have the will to go against the stream and I tried to show the world what I am capable of doing. In this sense, I am satisfied. I know that cases where I could have decided differently, had done better or have been smarter about my future. I failed in tournaments that I could be better and now I think there were decisions I made late. But, at least, I got them. I am happy to be tennis player.

I would like to leave a positive footprint in tennis. Not necessarily to win everything or big tournaments. I would definitely like to do it, I would do everything to conquer Grand Slams and continue to sacrifice to succeed, but I want to know me as someone who did something nice about our sport, who inspired children, who brought them to the sport. I want people to think I contributed in a way to the sport I chose ».
